MISSION

OUR MISSION: is to help build a community of recovery where residents in our home find their passion, purpose, and build a life that they love.

Our team has dedicated their lives to furthering this mission, and we will not give up until our residents have the resources and tools they need to be successful in life. Everyone deserves another chance.

We know that the road to recovery can feel overwhelming. That's why we've created a space where you are met with compassion, not judgement.

At The Lakes Recovery, we believe in:

Healing Through Community - You don't have to do this alone. We walk together.

Accountability with Grace - Recovery takes commitment, but we support you through setbacks.

A Life Beyond Addiction - Your past does not define you. A new chapter starts here.

THE FOUR DIMENSIONS OF RECOVERY:

1. Health: Overcoming or managing addiction and living in a physically and emotionally healthy way.

2. Home: A stable and safe place to live.

3. Purpose: Meaningful daily activities, such as a job, outpatient, school, volunteering, and family.

4. Community: Relationships and social networks that provide support, friendship, love, and hope.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@thelakesrecovery.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Rent is $750. If that is not an amount you can afford, you can sign up for GRH / Housing Assistance through the county.

We are happy to take you to Crow Wing County, where you will have a short interview with someone, fill out some paperwork & then they will give us the A-OK if you are approved for Housing Assistance.

At first, you will likely have a roommate. We offer room dividers for your privacy.

You can ask the house manager if you can be put on our list.

Absolutely! We encourage the women to apply for housing assistance before moving in. That leaves a bit of time to find a sponsor, a home group, and to feel apart of something. We have resources to make/fix a resume when you are ready to become employed.

We are located 1 block away from Cub Foods, the Dollar Store, Habitat for Humanity, and the Alano Club. There is also Dial-a-Ride services for our residents.

THE POWER OF PEER SUPPORT

Statement on the Value of Peer Support in Recover

We believe that connecting individuals with peer support is essential for long-term recovery and personal transformation. Peer support brings a unique and powerful element to healing—one grounded in empathy, shared lived experience, and mutual respect. Unlike clinical relationships, peer support builds trust naturally, allowing individuals to feel seen, heard, and truly understood.

By engaging consistently with others who have faced similar challenges, individuals gain resilience, accountability, and renewed hope. Peer networks reduce isolation and offer practical guidance and emotional encouragement that can be crucial in overcoming obstacles. Both research and real-life experiences show that peer-supported recovery leads to better treatment retention, lower relapse rates, and stronger community ties.

At the heart of our approach is the belief that recovery is not meant to be walked alone—it is a journey best traveled together. Through peer connections, we help individuals rebuild their lives with purpose, dignity, and strength.

The Hive House is proud to partner with Lighthouse Beginnings, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, to connect our members with trusted third-party peer support resources.
